Two teams of mighty game designers come together and use a small set of basic tools and one mystery ingredient to make an amazing piece of play! Watch each team struggle with the creative process and make something that will then be judged by our wondrous panel of players.

Charles Babb
Charles is an entertainment industry production professional that loves content, cutting-edge technology, and video game development. Currently, he is a co-founder of Fairchild Consortium, a small studio focusing on developing inventive and innovative interactive entertainment experiences across all mediums. Previously, Charles has worked across a number of entertainment industries including passive content streaming music, manga, anime, television, film, and games. Charles has developed properties for TOKYOPOP. He has also produced eight game titles published by Warner Bros., Activision, Sony PlayStation, and Koei Tecmo. Lastly, he has designed and produced a number of AR and VR projects.

Colleen Macklin
Colleen Macklin is a game designer and Associate Professor in the school of Art, Media and Technology at Parsons School of Design. In 2006 she founded and co-directs PETLab (Prototyping Education and Technology Lab), a lab that develops games for experimental learning and social engagement. She is a member of the game design collective Local No. 12, makers of the card game The Metagame (2015), and the videogame, Dear Reader (2019). She co-authored with John Sharp Games, Design and Play: A detailed look at iterative game design (2016) and Iterate: Ten Lessons in Design and Failure (2019). She’s an IndieCade Alumni, one of the founders of night games, and has led the finalist jury for several years!

Gordon Bellamy
Gordon is a Visiting Scholar at the USC Games and head of the USC Bridge incubator program, helping to cultivate the next generation of leaders in our craft. He has played key business and product leadership roles at Tencent, Electronic Arts, as a designer on Madden NFL Football, and MTV, and consulted for numerous companies in the industry.
He received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 at GDC and was featured on Nickelodeon for Black History Month for his 25 years of contributions to game industry and culture.
Gordon serves as the president / CEO of the Gay Gaming Professionals and on the Board of Directors of TheWaveVR and has served as Executive Director of both the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and the International Game Developers Association. He is a graduate of Harvard College with a BA in Engineering, and resides with his husband Joe Heally, and their dog, Colby Janet, in Los Angeles, California.

Tonia B******
Tonia is an experience designer and cofounder of Browntourage, a new media collective highlighting minority creative work on social issues since 2011.
Recent work includes Vibration Group: a transmedia universe in a space commune with a cast of migrants who had to leave earth but have developed psychosonic healing research as they avoid colonizing another planet.
They hold an MFA in Interactive Media from the University of Southern California where their research focused on experiences state of things using novel interactions and elevated imagination of futures using roleplay. They have been part of teams whose projects have been nominees or exhibitors at Indiecade in the past and they have been on an Indiecade panel for Indies of Color. Tonia has lectured about their practice at Universities, presented at conferences, and been covered in Vice, Wired, Refinery 29 and more.
Commercially they work in XR and themed entertainment and are currently based in Osaka at Universal Studio Japan’s Experience Design team.
