About Speaker

Shing Yin Khor is an Ignatz-winning cartoonist and installation artist exploring personal narrative, new human rituals, and collaborative worldbuilding through graphic novels and large art structures. They create work at the intersection of race, gender, immigrant stories, and queerness, inspired by old museums, scientific illustration, cabinets of curiosities, Americana, old maps, and the horrors of colonial era collecting. They founded and direct the immersive installation collective Three Eyed Rat, which has built space desert apothecaries at Burning Man, lumberjack-themed bars at XOXOfest, decrepit space salvage stations in the forest with a hundred children, and nomadic oracle carts manned by birds. They were the production designer on Capital W’s Hamlet-Mobile, which won an Indiecade award in 2016, and their own installation The Gentle Oraclebird appeared at Night Games in 2019.
