"Matts is a designer and producer on Apollo, an indie co-op game about the NASA moon missions. They have worked with a focus on museum games and interactive education for several groups, including the National Archives and Records Administration, USC Dornsife Art History, and Dr. Ken Phillips of the California Science Center. They began making games at Moorpark Community College, and have recently graduated from USC's games program. They currently teach kids age 9-14 how to develop their own games in Unity, as a means to fund their development of Apollo. Their work focuses on using Social-Emotional Learning, a rapidly growing field of research and practice that centers around building core neurological competencies during learning and play. Matts is an advocate for the unique ability of games to immerse and engage players emotionally, using interactivity as a means to deeply connect users with each other and the world around them."
