About Pirates and Lasers
Pirates & Lasers is a strategic struggle between ghost pirates and incompetent laser-wielding tourists. Keep the ship sailing as long as you can while lasers tear your ship asunder, managing resources and preventing damage to critical areas.
It was built for Blinks, the world’s first smart tabletop game system. The Blinks Game System brings the responsiveness of video games to tabletop gaming.
Meet our team
The team first met at the 2020 Global Game Jam. It was the first time any of us ever worked with Blinks.

Ian Cummins
Project Lead
Ian Cummins produces music as Azurite Coast, and is studying Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction.

Theo Johnson
Lead Game User Researcher
Theo has two IEEE virtual reality User Experience (UX) Research publications and a master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction. Using the knowledge of UX, he has designed augmented reality interfaces, led UX design workshops, and helped drive design decisions based on qualitative and quantitative research practices.

Priscilla McGann
Artist & Support Game Designer
Priscilla is a Junior Art Director who works in in Advertising and Promotions, bringing experience in character development, Illustration, interactive and game design to brands.

Michael Cooper
Gameplay Programmer
Michael Cooper is a game developer. He loves making games as part of a team of talented individuals with diverse skill-sets. He’s worked on several types of experiences: from virtual reality to playable advertising.
